The Maintenance Task is used to assist the user in carrying out the requirements of the maintenance plan for a particular item.
The task is normally drawn from manufacturer manuals and experience. It does not replace common sense but instead is to be used to assist the user in carrying out the requirements of maintaining equipment etc to the manufacturers specifications in a safe and cost effective manner.
At the top of the Task screen is a series of tabs as below:
Possible icons at the bottom of the page for this tab with a Work Order number assigned are as below:
Possible icons at the bottom of the page for this tab with no Work Order number assigned are as below:
When tapped a Work Order will be raised (if required) and a pop-up window will open to select an e-mail address. After selecting a recipients e-mail address and clicking send, the Work Order is then silently e-mailed (i.e. no e-mail program will open). After the e-mail is sent, a new page will open displaying the e-mail details in the top row of the Work Orders E-mailed list.
Used to defer the selected Item if defer of the selected Item is permitted
When tapped will open a page and display the history (last 20 records) of the selected maintenance item. To view all the historical records, when the History screen open, tap the 'All' icon.
WO Close :
When tapped opens another screen to facilitate closing the selected maintenance item Work Order
When tapped will generate a Work Order (assigns a number and flags 'WO Active'), without the option for preview/printing and then opens a screen to display the task information as described above in 'View Task'.
When tapped will open a screen to allow for selection of another Task to be assigned to the current Maintenance Item.
The level of editing allowed is dependent on the user's level of permissions.
Extreme care should be taken when editing the 'Special Instructions' given that in most cases this would be according to the manufacturers instructions. In such cases, editing should be in conjunction with the manufacturer. All editing is recorded in an Audit Trail.
In a situation where the user feels there is an alternate way of carrying out the task and editing of the 'Special Instructions' is not permitted, the user can add and assign a Miscellaneous document to the Maintenance Item either when Closing a Work Order or use the Support Documentation feature separately.
Possible icons at the bottom of the page for this tab are as below:
To edit a maintenance item, higher user level permissions are normally required. If the Edit icon is not visible in the Schedule Tab, it indicates that the user does not have the required permission to edit a Item.
Other than scheduling editing, many other features of an item can be edited on the Schedule Editing page. Extreme caution is required when editing which could lead to unexpected consequences. Regardless of what changes are made, the history will always remain the same. All changes are recorded in an Audit Log.
When tapped, returns the user to the Task tab on the same screen.
